Southern Hospitality Services was founded in 2003 by Roy Patel and Nash Patel, with the vision to own and manage their own portfolio, which now accounts for17 properties in operation, and more in various stages of development or construction. Southern Hospitality Services has the ability to continue developing superior hotels and grow to a level highly respected in the lodging industry.
SHS is directed by Roy Patel, Developer and President. Nash Patel, Developer and Vice President, Vijay Patel, Developer and Vice President, and Ed Ghanami, Director of Hotel Operations.
Currently SHS owns and operates 17 properties with a total of 1308 rooms in Mississippi, Louisiana and California with properties in various stages of development. The new Couryrad Jackson Airport with 105 rooms in Pearl opens in June 2014. A new Hampton Inn Monroe Airport is under contruction in Monroe, Louisiana and will open by end of 2014. Contruction of a new Holiday Inn Express in Southaven, MMisissippi will begin in mid summer of 2014.
In addition, SHS Regional Managers are assigned the job of operating within guidelines of company approved business plans and standards. With their support, our General Managers pride themselves in fully executing the plans and exceeding goals and objectives consistently.
SHS Corporate offices approves property level budgets, adheres standard operating procedures and conducts regular revenue audits and property reviews. SHS also monitors portfolio occupancy statistics, weekly revenue conference calls, income and expense forecasting, payroll analysis and weekly GM-DOS sales meetings.
